What are the responsibilities and job description for the Line Technician position at Montana-Dakota Utilities Co.?
Safely performs all duties associated with the construction, operation, and maintenance of electric distribution and transmission systems. Responds to emergencies, scheduled and unscheduled overtime, after hour calls, and customer complaints. Minimum Qualifications: High school education with lineworker certification or equivalent work experience acceptable to the Company. Requires a strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work independently with minimum supervision. Possess or acquire a valid commercial motor vehicle driver’s license appropriate for the position. (NOTE: Must be 21 to acquire a CDL valid for interstate travel.) Possess or acquire a valid Crane Operators Certification as required for this position. Must be able to perform all the essential functions required of the position with or without reasonable accommodations. Additional Information Preferred Qualifications
Qualified lineworker experienced in overhead and underground electrical systems. Knowledgeable in working energized high-voltage systems and underground fault locating equipment. Highly motivated self-starter with good written/oral communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
