What are the responsibilities and job description for the Deputy Jailer position at Montgomery County Regional Jail?
Responsibilities:
- Maintain security and order within the correctional facility
- Monitor inmate activities and ensure compliance with rules and regulations
- Conduct searches of inmates, cells, and common areas for contraband
- Respond to emergencies and disturbances within the facility
- Escort inmates to and from various locations within the facility
- Supervise inmate work assignments and recreational activities
- Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports
Experience:
- Previous experience in law enforcement or corrections is preferred
- Possession of a valid certificate in corrections or related field is a plus
- Strong conflict management skills to handle difficult situations with inmates
- Knowledge of CPR and first aid procedures for emergency situations
- Familiarity with militarized protocols and procedures is beneficial
- Ability to operate CCTV systems for surveillance purposes
- Proficient in report writing to document incidents, observations, and inmate behavior

Valid driver's license and high school diploma/GED required.
