Overview
We are seeking a Procurement and Project Manager to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the procurement process, ensuring that all materials and services are acquired efficiently and cost-effectively. This role will also communicate with customers regarding the status of their orders and coordinate with the production and shipping departments to ensure that those orders are produced and shipped on time. This role will collaborate closely with various departments to support production planning and maintain optimal inventory levels.
Duties
- Monitor the status of customer orders to ensure that they are produced and shipped on time
- Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with company goals and objectives.
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure favorable terms and pricing.
- Manage the purchasing process, including buying materials necessary for production.
- Conduct periodic cycle and physical inventory counts to ensure accuracy of system inventory readings.
- Collaborate with production planning teams to forecast material needs and ensure timely delivery.
- Utilize SAP systems for tracking inventory levels, orders, and supplier performance.
- Conduct root cause analysis on procurement issues to identify areas for improvement.
- Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and evaluate their performance regularly.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations in all procurement activities.
Qualifications
- Experience in procurement or materials management, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong negotiation skills
- Familiarity with production planning processes and systems.
- Experience with ERP systems in general
- Excellent analytical skills, including the ability to conduct root cause analysis.
- Knowledge of category management principles and practices.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
