Duties
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and evaluations to determine healthcare needs.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as necessary based on clinical findings.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding health management and treatment options.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Perform various nursing procedures, including IV insertion, suturing, catheterization, and phlebotomy.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to NCQA standards.
- Ensure infection control practices are followed in all patient interactions.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in nursing.
Experience
Candidates should have experience or familiarity with the following areas:
- Epic and Cerner EMR systems for efficient medical documentation.
- Critical care experience, including ICU or Level I/II trauma center exposure.
- Familiarity with ICD-9/ICD-10 coding for accurate medical records.
- Experience in various specialties such as pediatrics, geriatrics, emergency medicine, hospice & palliative medicine, and behavioral health.
- Knowledge of acute pain management techniques and medication administration protocols.
- Proficiency in performing physical examinations, vital signs assessment, and diagnostic evaluations.
- Experience working with diverse populations, including individuals with developmental disabilities or chronic conditions.
- Understanding of health coaching principles and case management practices.
