Accounting Manager
Position Summary:
Mood Media is looking for an experienced, hands-on Manager. This role will oversee accounting areas such as Inventory, Capitalized Labor, Equipment and Labor margins, Cash, and other areas. The Manager will report to the Director of Accounting and work closely with the warehouse and operations teams.
This position requires an energetic, hardworking individual that possesses excellent analytical skills along with the ability to combine different data and calculate profit margins. The ideal candidate should also be able to create detailed reports that present cost-effective solutions for our company.
Specific Responsibilities:
The Manager will have a core set of responsibilities including accounting, financial reporting and accounting process improvement.
Key Responsibilities will include (not limited to):
- Collect and analyze data about the company’s costs/revenues
- Analyze inventory valuations, manufacturing operations, equipment availability and utilization
- Maintain cost accounting system and cost ledger (Oracle EBS)
- Perform month-end accounting close responsibilities
- Review month-end accounting entries and analyses prepared by staff and senior accountants
- Recommend changes to the accounting processes and policies.
- Oversee annual physical inventory count (primary warehouse based in Fort Mill, SC with December 31 year-end)
- Develop, implement, and ensure compliance with internal financial and accounting policies and procedures
- Review monthly and quarterly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance
- Assist Director in providing necessary information to FP&A team and CFO for monthly and quarterly executive reporting
- Assist with the annual external audit process and quarterly reporting requirements. Coordinate the preparation and delivery of audit requests throughout the audit process
- Work with the Director on special projects requiring detailed activity analysis
- Complete required external reporting compliance as applicable
About the candidate:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting required
- Willingness and ability to work on a hybrid schedule (in office 3 days per week, Tues-Thurs)
- Strong analytical, problem solving skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable in identifying accounting issues and taking the initiative to research and correct them
- Experience in large company accounting environment preferred
- Superior EXCEL skills required
- Familiarity with a Oracle EBS or larger ERP system preferred
- Experience in the media industry and IFRS preferred
- Ability to multitask and work in a dynamic fast paced environment with tight deadlines
- Ability to take ownership of and lead assigned projects from beginning to close as well as work in a team setting
- Strong written and verbal communication skills. Comfortable communicating and interacting with remote teams at all levels to gather information and resolve questions
