Actuarial Assistant

Job Description

This is a part-time, remote role. The role will be involved in a variety of Property & Casualty actuarial analyses primarily within Commercial and Specialty Lines of insurance.

The types of projects include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Reserve reviews
• Rating plan development
• Rate filing support
• Rating model development
• Treaty reinsurance pricing
  
  

Essential Functions

• Organizing data in Excel, Access and/or R
• Research
• Building, maintaining and enhancing Excel analysis templates and models
• Traditional actuarial analyses
• Documentation
  
  

Education/Experience/Skills

• Bachelors’ degree
• 4 years of P&C experience
• 2 actuarial exams completed
• Both pricing and reserving experience is preferred
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Detailed oriented
• Quick learner
• Committed to meeting deadlines
• Solid understanding of insurance and actuarial fundamentals
• Strong data manipulation and organization skills
  
  

Technology:

• Advanced Microsoft Excel Skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Access
• Proficiency programming in VBA is a plus
• Proficiency programming in R is a plus
• Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint is a plus
