- Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, grooming, dressing, and meal preparation.
- Provide medication reminders and assist with basic medical tasks as directed by healthcare professionals.
- Offer companionship and engage residents in social and recreational activities to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being.
- Monitor residents' health and behavior, reporting any changes or concerns to the appropriate supervisory staff.
- Help with mobility and transfer tasks, using proper techniques to ensure the safety of residents and oneself.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for residents, including light housekeeping duties and laundry as needed.
- Document daily activities, resident progress, and any significant observations in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including nurses and social workers, to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Attend training sessions and staff meetings as required for ongoing professional development and compliance.
- High school diploma or equivalent; certification in caregiving or completion of a nursing assistant program is preferred.
- Previous experience in a caregiver role or related field is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and team members.
- Compassionate, patient, and understanding with a commitment to providing quality care.
- Ability to handle physical demands of the job, including lifting, bending, and mobility assistance.
- Basic understanding of common health issues and comfort with using medical equipment as necessary.
