Middle School Mathematics Teacher
The Swain Campus of Moravian Academy, serving children in Preschool through Grade 8 located in the Lehigh Valley seeks a full-time teacher to teach sixth, seventh, and eighth-grade math courses. This role would focus on teaching four sections comprising the following course content areas: Foundations of Middle School Math and Algebra 1. The school seeks candidates who are innovative, are savvy with technology, have a firm grasp of teaching pedagogy, and embrace the unique developmental stages of middle school students.

- Teach and manage all aspects of day-to-day classroom operations
- Advise or co-advise a small group of middle school students
- Design and implement innovative instructional methods to meet the needs of diverse learners’ academic, social, and emotional growth
- Conduct assessments and prepare the reporting of students’ progress and performance
- Attend divisional, full-faculty, and parent meetings as needed
- Maintain a well-managed, mutually respectful, and welcoming classroom environment
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with fellow faculty members, staff, and administrators
- Passion for teaching and children
- Experience teaching middle school-aged students
- Training in research-based best practices and current teaching methods in mathematics education
- Experience applying Responsive Classroom strategies a plus
Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a related field
Background coursework in upper-level mathematics preferred
