Positions in this job family provide direction and support for library and Information services. This job family also supports written, visual, electronic, and/or broadcast media communications, library activities, and information dissemination.
DUTIES
Assists in the daily activities of the Library including assisting students and faculty with searches via various online electronic resources and locating physical materials, circulation of all materials, Interlibrary Loan and Document Delivery, bibliographic searching, bibliographic verification, photocopying of articles for Document Delivery via fax or email, processing of monographs and serials, and operating automated circulation processes in the absence of other circulation staff.
Reports to the Manager of Information Services and manages the daily receipt, branding and shelving of all loose serials titles contained within the Morehouse School of Medicine Serials Collection.
Updates Internal and external Library databases through high-level access procedures to reflect activity with both bound and unbound serials titles, including updates to the Online Public
Access Catalog holdings (OPAC).
Assists patrons in acquiring materials located in physical stacks and through various electronic resources.
Manages and verifies Intra and Inter Library document delivery and loan requests submitted by faculty, staff, students from MSM and other institutions.
Logs Intra and Inter library document delivery and loan requests following standard procedures.
Locates citations for retrieval and copying of journal articles for distribution in-house and to other institutions.
Prepares invoices to accompany requests and manages supporting documentation files utilizing appropriate technology.
Prepares monthly reports and keep statistical records for Intra and Inter Library activities associated with Document Delivery and Interlibrary Loan.
Supports Library in the creation and implementation of outreach projects and grant-sponsored programming.
Performs light maintenance and trouble-shooting duties related to Library copiers, print management system, and reading-room computers and e-lab workstations.

Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience: Minimum of 4 years of medical library experience.
