Morgan Compounding is an independently owned pharmacy in downtown Alpharetta. We have served patients since 1985, providing them with high-quality, customized medications. We are a small company of 17 employees committed to working together on common goals and supporting each other’s growth and development.
We are looking for a full-time compounding pharmacy technician to join our team of technicians who make capsules, creams, troches, suppositories and more in our unique laboratory and retail environment. Compounding Experience is a plus but not a requirement.
Job Description:
The compounding pharmacy technician’s duties include:
1) Prepare compounded medications while under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist
2) Compound medication formulations into oral solutions, troches, lollipops, lip balms, capsules, creams, ointments, lotions, rectal suppositories, ear drops, and animal treats *
3) Operate, monitor, and maintain work area and compounding equipment in a sanitary fashion
4) Operate ointment mill, tube sealer, electronic mortar and pestle, speed mixer, hot plates, electric and analytical balance, encapsulator.
5) Assist the pharmacist in accessing, reviewing, and processing patient records/orders in the compounding computer
6) Triage incoming orders
7) Maintain documentation as required for all prescriptions in an organized fashion
8) Maintain/manage inventory of bulk chemicals, supplies, and compounded items
9) Conduct oneself in professional manner and participate in quality improvement processes
10) Comply with all QA/QI and accreditation programs
11) Communicating openly and respectfully with fellow staff members, technician managers, and pharmacist supervisors to ensure smooth and efficient pharmacy operations
12) Being a dependable member of the technician team and the overall pharmacy team as reflected by reliable attendance, punctual arrival, and a commitment to team accountability
Position Qualifications:
The required qualifications for the open compounding pharmacy technician position are:
1) A high school diploma or equivalent
2) A current Georgia pharmacy technician’s license
3) The physical ability to stand on one’s feet throughout the day
4) An on-going commitment to learning and performing the skill of making medications at the highest level of quality in the compounding field
5) Understands and can perform basic pharmaceutical calculations in order to obtain correct doses of medications.
6) A demonstrated ability to pay close attention to detail
7) A consistent approach that is oriented towards helping co-workers achieve success with their jobs
8) A demonstrated ability to set goals and see tasks through to completion
9) A positive, problem-solving attitude
10) A genuine commitment to patients' good health
