Job Overview:Our client, a large School District in Columbia, SC, is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic General Education Teacher to join their team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about education and committed to fostering a positive learning environment that supports the academic and personal growth of all students. This role involves developing and delivering engaging lessons in accordance with state standards, assessing student progress, and working collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and the community

Key Responsibilities:

Curriculum Development and Instruction:

• Develop and implement lesson plans that meet state standards and are appropriate for the age and abilities of students.
• Utilize a variety of teaching methods and materials to accommodate different learning styles and needs.
• Integrate technology and other resources to enhance student learning.

Student Assessment and Progress Monitoring:

• Assess student progress through formative and summative assessments.
• Provide timely and constructive feedback to students and parents.
• Use data to inform instruction and make adjustments as necessary to support student achievement.

Classroom Management:

• Establish and maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
• Implement effective classroom management strategies to ensure a safe and productive learning environment.
• Address and resolve conflicts and behavioral issues in accordance with school policies.

Collaboration and Professional Development:

• Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and resources.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational trends and practices.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and concerns.

Qualifications:

Education and Certification:

• Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field.
• Valid South Carolina teaching certification in General Education or eligibility for certification.

Experience:

• Previous teaching experience is preferred but not required.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively teach and engage students at the elementary or secondary level.

Skills:

• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
• Proficiency in using technology as an instructional tool.
