Job Details

Purpose: The role of the Environmental and Regulatory Services Project Manager is to provide project specific environmental and regulatory management, consulting, and support the Environmental and Regulatory Services Senior Project Manager.

Work Schedule: Flex-schedule, Up to 9 hours per day; Monday through Friday; Overtime may be required to meet project deadlines, attend work related meetings, or project related travel.

Responsibilities:
Environmental and Regulatory Services Development Communication with clients to further expand environmental and regulatory services provided by MPH. Research of environmental regulations to further expand environmental/regulatory services provided by MPH.
Communications - Consult/communicate with client representative to assist with the coordination of project activities relative to the company’s scope of services. Communicating with Supervisors, Peers, or Subordinates - Providing information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person. Communicating with key Project Personnel - Communicating with people outside the organization, representing the organization to customers, the public, government, and other external sources. This information can be exchanged in person, in writing, or by telephone or e-mail.
Project Management - Development of project scope, goals, deliverables, schedules, professional service proposals and cost estimates.
Technical Supervise and assist environmental professionals and technicians with preparing environmental and regulatory opinions and reports.
Reconnaissance - Conduct preliminary project site reconnaissance for environmental and regulatory issues, the development of project proposals, and cost estimates.
Personnel Management - Supervise project personnel to assure compliance with company policies and procedures relative to Safety & Operations.
Task Management Determine and assign tasks for completion; monitor progress and adjust resources and schedules accordingly to meet project schedule and budgetary criteria.
Coordination - Coordinate with Environmental and Regulatory staff on scheduling environmental fieldwork.


Key Tasks:
Review projects for environmental and regulatory requirements.
Communication with clients regarding project specific environmental and regulatory requirements.
Research existing and proposed environmental and regulatory requirements.
Develop environmental and regulatory project cost estimates, cost proposals, and project regulatory timelines.
Organizing, Planning, and Prioritizing Work - Developing specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish your work.
Guiding, Directing, and Motivating Subordinates - Providing guidance and direction to subordinates, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance.
Performing Administrative Activities - Performing day-to-day administrative tasks such as maintaining information files and processing paperwork. Approving Timesheets of field/office personnel.
Developing and Building Teams - Encouraging and building mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members.
Travel to and from project areas and/or meetings.
Project reconnaissance and site visits.
Developing Objectives and Strategies - Establishing long-range objectives and specifying the strategies and actions to achieve them.

Work Conditions:
Work may occur outdoors, under varying environmental conditions.
Sitting or standing for extended periods of time.
Participation in training sessions, presentations, and meetings.
Frequent travel may be required for the purpose of meeting with clients, crews, contractors, or off-site personnel/management and to conduct project reconnaissance and site reviews.
Continuous use of adaptive communication including keen listening skills.
Ability to concentrate and simultaneously adapt to changing priorities on a regular basis.

Qualifications


Essential Qualifications:
Ability to estimate projects, prepare scopes of work, and manage project specific budgets.
Ability to manage project resources efficiently.
Ability to interface directly with clients.
5 years of experience in environmental or regulatory services consulting.
Bachelor’s Degree (graduate degree preferred)
Environmental and regulatory experience with various types of projects.
Adept at conducting research into project-related issues and products.
Practical knowledge of environmental and regulatory issues.
Must be able to learn and understand new environmental and regulatory regulations.
Knowledge in civil permitting a plus (i.e. Highway, Railroad, Parish/County).
Ability to communicate with regulatory agencies.
Ability to provide project presentations to clients and regulatory agencies.
Familiarity with project management methods and strategies.
Can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Flexible during times of change.
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, clients, and other departments.
Demonstrated experience in personnel and task management.
Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Ability to travel.
