Are you entrepreneurial, mission-minded, and passionate about reaching the next generation?
We’re looking for a self-starting, relational leader to pioneer a brand-new student ministry with the full support of a healthy, multi-generational church just minutes from Cal Poly and the Pacific Ocean. This is a calling to build something from the ground up in an area of our country that is predominantly unchurched and de-churched.

What We’re Looking For

· A visionary disciple-maker who is ready to plant, not just lead, a student ministry (focusing on middle school and high school, but Cal Poly and Cuesta are also in our backyard).

· Someone who thrives outside the office—meeting kids on campuses, at the beach, coffee shops, and wherever students gather.

· A bridge-builder who connects the church to the community, and kids to Christ.

· A leader who will recruit, train, and invest in volunteers before launching any programs or events.

· Someone with a missionary mindset—the harvest is plentiful, with over 90% of students in our area not connected to any form of ministry.

· A team player eager to partner with a gracious, prayerful, and supportive church family who believes in you and the next generations.

· Someone with strong theological convictions and education who understands the importance of orthodoxy and orthopraxy.

Preferred Qualifications

· Young Life background or similar relational ministry experience is a major plus.

· Proven ability to initiate and grow ministries from the ground up.

· Strong commitment to evangelism and discipleship.

· Demonstrated experience working with students, volunteers, and families.

· Willingness to pursue ordination within ECO (if not already ordained), with support from our church.

Required Qualifications

· Undergraduate Degree with some formal schooling in theology

· Agreement with ECO’s essential tenets (https://eco-pres.org/wp-content/uploads/ECO-CONSTITUTION.pdf)

· Teachable and cooperative

· Able to lift 50 lbs

· Valid Driver’s License

Compensation & Support

· $70,000 - $78,000 annual salary (depending on experience)

· Full medical benefits (for full-time employee)

· Paid vacation (for full-time employee) and sick leave

· Ongoing coaching and spiritual care

o We will tailor the formal job description around your gifts, passions, and experience.

· Long-term potential for this to grow into an ordained pastoral role within ECO
