Overview
The purpose of the Nursery Caregiver is to provide a Christian environment for infants and children under 3 years old during church related services or activities. We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver to join our team. This position has responsibility for the nursery ministries during Sunday services and any church activities as needed. The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing high-quality care and support to individuals, particularly children, in various settings. This role requires a nurturing attitude and the ability to manage behaviors effectively while promoting childhood development.
Duties
- Provide attentive and personalized care to children under 3 years old during during our weekend church services and various other church activities as requested , ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Create a positive environment for children and parents related to their infant or toddler's needs.
- Implement behavior management strategies to support positive interactions and emotional development.
- Foster a nurturing environment that encourages learning and growth through structured activities.
- Maintain a clean and organized space conducive to learning and play.
- Collaborate with parents or guardians to communicate progress and any concerns regarding the child's development.
- Support children with special needs by adapting activities to meet their individual requirements.
- Document daily activities and any significant changes in behavior or health.
Requirements
- Proven experience in caregiving or related fields such as daycare or early childhood education is preferred.
- Provide care for infants and children under 3 years of age during two Sunday Services and Sunday School, as well as various other church activities as requested in a safe environment.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and practices.
- Skills in first aid and behavior management are highly desirable.
- Complete a Safe Gatherings training course.
- Ability to manage classroom dynamics effectively, especially with toddlers or young children.
- Strong communication skills to interact positively with children, parents, and team members.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine love for working with children of all ages.
- A background in special education is a plus but not mandatory.
