Duties and Responsibilities
- Actively manage the execution of transportation activities for assigned modes and regions through management of all dispatching functions of outbound order movement utilizing both internal (SAP) and external systems (TMS).
- Manage daily performance of transportation operations team and monitor team’s performance to established KPIs/SLAs and resolve any deficiencies.
- Works closely with internal teams in coordinating solutions to daily transportation/logistics issues with suppliers and internal customer service/supply chain personnel to ensure seamless on-time deliveries while exceeding both internal and external customer expectations.
- Manage the relationships between the internal / external customers and suppliers.
- Work with suppliers to resolve contractual service deficiencies to KPI/SLAs.
- Work with QA, suppliers, and plants to address, resolve, and escalate transportation quality issues.
- Responsible for executing RFP awards with internal / external stakeholders and ensure transportation requirements are met by suppliers in accordance with agreed-upon capacity requirements.
- Optimize or implement the use of appropriate automation tools/standard forms.
- Responsible for the overall OS&D process.
- Support cost savings projects by identifying and tracking savings opportunities.
- Identify, source and lead cost savings initiatives.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, with preference towards Business, Logistics, Engineering, Supply Chain or Operations Management.
- Advance degree a plus
- 7 years’ experience in managing daily transportation operations categories such as bulk and package truck, intermodal, or export movements highly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability in building and developing a team of professionals in transportation management.
- Experience working with suppliers and managing suppliers to set KPI/SLAs and conducting service performance analysis.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Strong analytical skills with high level of organization, follow through & accuracy. Ability to collect, organize, analyze and disseminate information with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.
- Demonstrates high level of customer service skills.
- Able to prioritize in complex and fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of all MS Office products
- Experience in SAP is an asset.
