RF Repair Technician

• Role Overview: This is a hands-on electronics repair position focused on Motorola Solutions (MSI) two-way radios within a controlled repair center environment. The technician will handle diagnostics, repair, programming, testing, and documentation of RF-based communication equipment.
• Experience Level: Ideal for candidates with 1–3 years of electronics repair experience or an Associate Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technology (EE/EET). Strong fit for those transitioning from cell phone, laptop, or other small electronics repair backgrounds.
• Core Skills: Candidates should have foundational knowledge of RF and electronics theory, experience using oscilloscopes, multimeters, and signal generators, and the ability to interpret test data and document repair outcomes.
• Tools & Software: Proficiency with Windows OS, Google Suite, and Microsoft Excel required; exposure to test and diagnostic tools for communication devices is a plus.
• Work Environment: Onsite role (Lanham, MD) with a 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM schedule, potential overtime, and no travel required. Good communication skills and attention to documentation and compliance.
• Training & Expectations: Comprehensive training lasts 2–4 weeks, after which technicians are expected to perform independently, contribute to repair throughput, and uphold quality and documentation standards.

Responsibilities

• Repair, upgrade, and program MSI two-way radios
• Set up, adjust, and operate test equipment per procedure
• Monitor equipment performance and conduct test runs
• Document radio/device performance and validate results
• Troubleshoot and diagnose issues using documented methods
• Collect and report test data, including serial/model numbers and features
• Clean equipment and ensure readiness for shipment

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in EE/EET or equivalent experience
• 1-3 years in a related field or an Associate's Degree in EE/EET
