What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ticket sales representative position at Motor City Rockers?

The Group Ticket Account Representative will be responsible for generating revenue through the sale of group tickets for the Motor City Rockers professional hockey team for their 28 home games at the 3,200 seat Big Boy Arena.

This role requires a dynamic individual with strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a passion for hockey and a proven track record in sales.

The primary focus will be on building and maintaining relationships with group leaders, corporations, community organizations and other potential clients.

Responsibilities :

1. Generate Revenue :

  • Sell group ticket package for the Motor City Rockers home games to meet or exceed sale goals.
  • Develop and implement strategies to maximize revenue from group ticket sales.

2. Prospecting and Outreach :

  • Identify and prospect potential group leaders, corporations, schools, religious, and community organizations to generate new business.
  • Conduct cold calls, emails and in-person meetings to establish and nurture relationships with potential clients.

3. Client Relationship Management :

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing group leaders and clients.
  • Provide excellent customer service to ensure high client satisfaction and repeat business.

4. Customized Packages :

  • Work closely with clients to understand their needs and create customized group ticket packages.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop promotional materials and incentives for group sales.

5. Game Day Operations

  • Coordinate logistics for group events on game days, including ticket distribution, special promotions, and group experiences.
  • Attend home games to assist with on-site coordination and ensure a positive experience for group attendees

6. Reporting and Analysis :

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of sales activities including client interactions and sales projections.
  • Provide regular reports to the Team President on sales performance and opportunities for improvement.

Qualifications :

  • Preferred associate or bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Sports Management or a related field preferred. Past sales experience will be taken into account in lieu of educational degrees.
  • Proven experience in sales with a focus on group sales and / or ticket sales in the sports or entertainment industry.
  • Ability to work flexibly hours including evenings, weekends and holidays during the hockey season. This is NOT a 9-5 nor 40 hours a week job- you must have a passion for success.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM software.

Compensation :

  • You will be supplied with a small weekly stipend ($200 a week or $10,400 a year)
  • Tiered Commission based on performance. (0-$8000 0%; $8000- $15,000 10%; 15,000 - $25,000 15%; 25,000 plus 20%)
