POSITION SUMMARY
Implements and leads the education and training plan for the EHR system and Mount Nittany Health specific applications. Develops schedules and tracks all training efforts. Prepare training material for multiple delivery modes. Develop expertise in assigned applications as well as business area and departmental workflows. Leads project management initiatives, coordinates training and activities of department-based trainers/Super Users and ensures they maintain competency. Reports project status information to management and/or project requestors on a timely basis.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in a field related to the area of assignment (administrative, financial, clinical or nursing) or the equivalent effective healthcare/application support experience.
Experience:
- One year experience in the area(s) of assignment (administrative, financial, clinical or nursing), which has provided the applicant with significant exposure to and knowledge of relevant operating policies and procedures, processes and interdependencies.
- Previous experience with computers, relevant applications, and Epiic systems is preferred.
- Previous experience with providing education of software application or health care related training.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office is required.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to listen well to others is required.
- Organizational and motivational skills, including the proven ability to manage projects, meet deadlines, and positively motivate non-subordinate personnel to achieve desired actions and outcomes is required.
- Effective teaching skills are required.
- Interest in, and enthusiasm for technology and its potential for improving inter- and intra-departmental efficiency and effectiveness is a must.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Master both the respective Epic module and the relevant operational workflows.
- Develop and maintain Epic course curriculum along with all training materials for the respective Epic application, utlitizing the Epic University Training tools.
- Successfully manages all phases of IT projects from an education needs analysis perspective.
- Develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of workflows to properly develop training curriculum and related materials.
- Champion departmental change management process. Build, test, and maintain the training environment.
- Ensure all classroom training and related training materials adhere to current policies and procedures.
- Teach additional credentialed trainers/analysts who will assist with classroom training for end users. This will include monitoring the trainer’s adherence to course curriculum, knowledge of applicable workflow, and overall Epic system knowledge.
- Lead training efforts stemming from software upgrades and updates. Coordinate closely with system analysts in order to develop proper training in consideration of all end users roles to ensure effective training in advance of software updates and new version releases.
- Provide hands on support to system end users with learned application knowledge and documents project issues.
- Participate in testing and workflow validation of all new systems and modifications before implementation into the production environment.
- Maintain customer service orientation and responsiveness.
- Obtain certified proficiency within each assigned Epic application module.
- Communicate effectively with project leadership, team members and customers.
