Job Summary
We are a new optometry practice that has been open for almost 2 years. You will be working with a fantastic team including the owner doctor and one optician. We treat patients ranging from pediatrics (kids) to geriatrics (65 year olds) and everything in between.

Roles and Responsibilities
- Greet and check-in patients efficiently and professionally, ensuring a welcoming environment
- Manage patient intake processes, including collecting insurance cards and updating medical records
- Assist with ophthalmic examinations by performing basic testing and measurements such as visual acuities, case history, visual fields, color vision, stereopsis testing, iCare tonometry, auto-refraction, and Optos retinal imaging.
- Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations
- Prepare exam rooms using alcohol cleaning wipes or agents to clean equipment for each patient
- Maintaining a clean and organized work environment
- Operate EMR systems such as Crystal to document patient information accurately
- Conduct retail sales of eyewear, contact lenses, and accessories, applying retail math principles for transactions
- Ordering frames, lenses, and contacts and updating inventory as needed
- Educate patients on optical products and services
- Dispense contacts and glasses
- Adjust and repair eyeglasses
- Handle administrative tasks including answering phone calls, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and managing medical billing and coding as needed
- Support clinic operations by maintaining organized medical records and ensuring compliance with healthcare standards
- Collaborate with the clinical team to provide comprehensive patient care
- Willingness to adapt and grow with the needs of the business.
Qualifications
- No prior experience required, but an eagerness to learn
- Prior experience in medical office settings or ophthalmology clinics preferred; experience with optical or optometric practices is a plus
- Familiarity with computers and Electronic Medical Record systems such as Crystal or similar platforms
- Excellent communication skills for patient interaction and team collaboration
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality
- Basic understanding of medical billing, coding, and insurance verification processes is desirable
- Professional and compassionate demeanor, and a strong commitment to providing outstanding patient care
