Tenure-Track Faculty in Computational and/or Systems Neuroscience - Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai
The Department of Neuroscience and the Friedman Brain Institute at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai invite applications for a full-time tenure-track faculty position in computational and/or systems neuroscience. We welcome applicants for Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor positions. This position will complement Mount Sinai’s research strengths in behavioral, cognitive, circuit, cellular, molecular, and clinical neuroscience. We welcome candidates from diverse backgrounds who are excited to establish an independent, federally funded research group and are eager to collaborate across disciplines.
Responsibilities
Faculty will join a newly formed Center for Computational and Systems Neuroscience at Mount Sinai. The center's primary goal is to bring together computational and experimental neuroscience researchers to accelerate progress in understanding how the brain performs the necessary computations to drive behavior.
Qualifications
Successful applicants will have an outstanding research record in one or more areas related to computational or systems neuroscience. These areas may include (but are not limited to) recording and manipulating neural dynamics related to behavior, neuroengineering, brain-computer interfaces, artificial intelligence/machine learning, artificial neural networks, dynamical systems, and other computational methods. Candidates are expected to have a strong interest in mentoring and contributing to efforts that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Candidates must hold a Ph.D., M.D., or M.D./Ph.D. (or equivalent international degree) in neuroscience or a related field and 3 years of postdoctoral research experience.

- Research statement (2 pages, not including references): Describe your most significant scientific discoveries and accomplishments to date, as well as the focus and goals of your future research program.

Salary Disclosure Information:
Compensation will range from 150K to 250K. Mount Sinai Health System provides a salary range to comply with the New York City law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialties, historical productivity, historical collections, and hospital/community need. As such, an actual salary may fall closer to one or the other end of the range, and in certain circumstances, may wind up being outside of the listed salary range. The salary range listed is for full-time employment and does not include bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits.
