Description

Elmhurst Hospital Center is seeking a Full-time Trauma, Critical Care and Acute Care Surgeon to join its Trauma Center in Queens, NY!

The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai affiliated with NYC Health Hospitals/Elmhurst is seeking a full-time Trauma, Critical Care and Acute Care Surgeon. Elmhurst Hospital Center is a 545-bed tertiary care facility and an ACS-verified level 1 trauma center in the ethnically diverse New York City borough of Queens. Elmhurst Hospital is part of New York City Health Hospitals, the largest municipal hospital system in the nation.

The successful applicant will join a busy Trauma Center caring for over 1600 trauma admissions per year as well as an extremely active acute care surgery service. The successful candidate will join a group of surgical intensivists managing our dedicated 12-bed Surgical Trauma Intensive Care Unit as well as an 8-bed Surgical Step-down unit. There is also an opportunity to develop an elective general surgical practice, including use of the DaVinci Surgical Robot.


Responsibilities
  • Direct patient care and the teaching and supervision of Mount Sinai Surgery fellows, residents and students
  • Manage 12-bed Surgical Trauma Intensive Care Unit as well as an 8-bed Surgical Step-down unit

Qualifications
  • MD degree
  • Board certified/board eligible in Surgery and Surgical Critical Care
  • Valid New York State License, DEA and Medicaid number
  • Strong clinical abilities, teaching experience, communication and interpersonal skills

Compensation range from 400K to 500K (not including bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits)
