Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the classroom teacher in delivering Waldorf-inspired activities and daily routines, supporting students across various subjects and developmental levels.
- Adapt and implement existing lesson plans and classroom activities with flexibility, maintaining consistency with Waldorf principles and classroom goals.
- Create a joyful, inclusive, and engaging classroom atmosphere that promotes confidence, collaboration, and student participation.
- Observe and assess student engagement and behavior, providing informal feedback to support their social and emotional growth.
- Collaborate with other staff members and specialists to support interdisciplinary projects and school initiatives.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff regarding classroom activities and student well-being.
- Support school events and activities as needed, including special projects and community gatherings.
- Maintain a respectful, nurturing, and stimulating classroom environment aligned with Waldorf values.

Required
- Bachelors Degree, pursuit of a Bachelors Degree, or a minimum of two years experience in an educational setting
- Previous experience as a substitute teacher or in a similar role preferred
- Strong classroom management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to adapt to different teaching styles and classroom environments
- Flexibility and willingness to work in different grade levels and subject area
Preferred
- Waldorf Teacher Certification and/or experience in a Waldorf educational environment
- Colorado Teaching or Substitute License

Compensation and Hours:
The standard school hours are 8 AM to 4 PM, Monday through Thursday, and 8 AM to 1 PM on Friday. Our in-house substitutes start at an hourly wage of $23 for unlicensed candidates and $25 for licensed professionals. All paid positions are eligible to participate in PERA, the public employee retirement system. To qualify as an "in-house" substitute, you'll commit to a consistent 3- or 4-day weekly schedule, with those days remaining the same throughout the year unless otherwise requested by administration.
