What are the responsibilities and job description for the Kingdom Care Worker position at Mountain Springs Church?
Job Summary: This position supports the mission and vision of Mountain Springs Church (MSC) by providing Christ-centered care to all children in the nursery and pre-school area for weekend services and other events.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS & EXPECTATIONS:
Minimum Age: 16 years or older
GENERAL EXPECTATIONS:
- Committed believer in Christ
- Positive influence and attitude
- Punctuality, arriving 30 minutes prior to service time
- Can work in any assigned position
- Ability to lead and assist in a classroom
- Love children and be comfortable working with babies to 6th grade aged children
- Be willing to work in whatever environment the team needs help
- Be available to work a minimum of 3 times per week with at least 2 being a Sunday service
- Perform necessary cleaning to return room to the condition you found it (or better!)
- Be humble in your leadership role
- Be a spiritual leader in the room or environment
- Interact well with parents (smile, polite greeting, calm demeanor, etc.)
ESSENTIAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Nursery Expectations (12 Weeks to 2 years)
- Able to change diapers (Adult females only)
- Exhibit patience with crying babies and small children
- Can calm a nervous, upset, or scared child
- Spiritual leader
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
Early Childhood (3 years to Kindergarten)
- Able to work with children who are potty training (Adult females only)
- Patient with small children
- Teach Bible lesson
- Snacks and Crafts
- Able to control 20-30 children
- A spiritual leader who is confident in their knowledge and ability to lead children to Christ
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
Elementary Expectations (1st grade to 5th grade)
- Teach class of up to 40 children
- Keep control of classroom of 40 children
- Lead class in prayer
- Participate in worship
- A spiritual leader who is confident in their knowledge and ability to lead children to Christ
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
Flexibility
Please be flexible with regard to where you are needed. We will try to accommodate your preference if possible. If you have a child who is disruptive or out of sorts for more than 20 minutes, please ask the Lead of that area before making the decision to call the parent out of service.
Intentionality
Be intentional from beginning to end! Interact with the parents, as well as the children. Use positive words and statements and pray with and for the children. The use of cell phones or electronic devices is not permitted unless it is an emergency, or you receive permission from the Lead.
