Mountain View Hospital is looking for a Licensed Practical Nurse/Registered Nurse to join our team!
JOB SUMMARY: The Wound Care Nurse is a sub specialty area. We are willing to train and work towards your eligibility for credentialing. The Wound Care Nurse (WCN) is accountable for assuring the provision of quality wound care to all wound clinic patients and providing services to two hospitals. The WCN ensures that the patients’ physical and psychosocial needs are met in the clinic and addressed for home care; all patients’ care is documented according to policy and that patients’ families are well informed of the patients’ status per Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). This position is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating quality patient care within his/her scope of practice. Provides direction to license and para/nonprofessional personnel to perform their duties in accordance with their level of expertise.

Qualifications
Education/Certification: Current License as a Physical Therapist, LPN or RN. Holds and maintains certification as a nurse, or Physical Therapist. BLS certification and renewal as required. General knowledge of instructional skill, quality management, skill analysis and group dynamics.
Experience: No Advanced wound care experience needed, but is a plus. Willing to train/educate in the advanced wound care field.
Equipment/Technology: Ability to successfully and competently utilize computer software for operation of department.
Mathematical Skills: Average
Mental Capabilities: Must have the ability to concentrate for long periods of time in order to complete assigned tasks with a better than average attention span, in order to listen, read and remember verbal and written instructions. Can understand input from the director concerning errors and instructions. Ability to exercise independent judgment with attention to detail, have the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written format.
Performance: Able to deal with difficult client situations and emergencies in a calm and professional manner. Must be able to handle conflict issues with both patients and staff. Able to maintain confidentiality.
