SUMMARY
Responsible for the supervision and performance of front desk agents
and call center staff.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greets and assists all guests entering or leaving the hotel. Registers and assigns rooms to guests of the hotel in a timely manner.
- Verifies customers’ credit, and establishes how the customer will pay for the accommodation.
- Keeps records of room availability and guests’ accounts using hotel computer systems.
- Respond to guest complaints by taking corrective action within authorized limits
- Assist in the training of new employees, handles employee complaints and problems.
- Instruct assigned personnel on safety policies and procedures: reports all safety hazards to the appropriate department and follows up to ensure hazards are eliminated.
- Performs simple bookkeeping activities, such as balancing cash accounts.
- Reviews accounts and charges with guests during the checkout process.
- Posts charges, such as those for rooms, laundry, food, liquor to ledgers by using hotel computer systems.
- Transmits and receives messages, using telephones or telephone switchboards.
- Contacts Housekeeping or Maintenance staff when guests report problems.
- Reviews and becomes familiar with VIP’s and group folders, verifying proper blocking arrangements.
- Follows and completes items on Guest Services AM/PM checklist.
- Ensures timely and efficient delivery of guest messages, mail, and faxes.
- Responds to guest inquiries and directs guests around the hotel/casino.
- Explains proper use of keys system and ensures the guests' satisfaction with their room.
- Audits current registration cards to computerized information.
- Corrects errors and discrepancies on guest accounts and resolves guest complaints.
- Ensures organization and cleanliness of all work areas.
- Balances cash daily and prepares deposit for general cashier.
- Ensures organization and cleanliness of all work areas.
- Follow hotel policies and procedures, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Other duties as assigned.
REPORTING LINE
You will report directly to the Guest Services Manager then to the Director of Resort Operations.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Must have excellent communication skills, be polite, and present a neat appearance at all times.
- Must exhibit a friendly and outgoing disposition at all times.
- The ability to work in a fast –paced environment and stressful situations.
- Must have working knowledge of MS Office and multi-line phones.
- The ability to work with others as a team in an efficient manner.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
- Must exhibit excellent judgment and high moral integrity.
- You will need to be available to work all shifts.
- You must be at least 21 years old.
- You also must be able to pass a background investigation and obtain and maintain a WV Racing License.
EDUCATIONAL AND/OR EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
Previous hotel front desk experience preferred
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
You will need to be able to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time.
Frequent reaching, bending and pulling.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Will be exposed to working in a noisy, smoke/secondary smoke environment, moderate noise, bright lights and seasonal elements.
