TITLE: Excursion Specialist
REPORTS TO: Director of Outdoor Pursuits
ESSENTIAL FUNCTION:
To establish and maintain a Mountaintop service environment for members and guests in addition to creating lasting memories on all excursions. You will need to work directly with the Director of Outdoor Pursuits to plan, market, recruit, and execute several excursions per week.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Excursions
- Market & Recruit for Excursion Trips
- Plan and Execute Excursion
- Ensure safety of members while on excursions
- Responsible for preparing transportation to and from excursions
- Keep the OP vehicle clean, organized, and proper storage of OP equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- North Carolina Boaters Safety Certificate(Preferred)
- Red Cross First Aid & CPR Training (WFA or WFR preffered)
- 1-2 years of experience with kids
- Athletics or outdoor enthusiast
- Knowledge of local Activities and events:
- High school diploma or equivalent
MENTAL
- The ability to direct staff with a true spirit and embrace the company philosophy and culture at Mountaintop. Must be able to think constructively and solve problems. Ability to handle changing and unexpected situations.
- Ability to set priorities and adjust to changing conditions.
- Excellent human relation skills. Must have ability to lead by example through his/her work habits and mannerisms.
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE:
- The excursion specialist should possess knowledge of Lake Glenville, Local Hiking Trails, Fish & Plant Life, Local Excursions, Mountaintop, Camp, Lake Club and community.
UNUSUAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to lift 50-100 lbs.
UNUSUAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Must be willing to work various hours, holidays, weekends, and long hours on feet.
- Must be able to work on the water for extended periods
- Must be able to work with industrial type cleaning products
- Must be willing to adapt to various weather conditions
