Job Summary:
The Design Assistant is an entry level position that will assist the design team to initiate and develop concepts each season that are reflective of the creative vision and Brand aesthetic.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the VP Design and Design Manager:
- Assists team in tasks needed to create watch designs
- Assists researching seasonal concept materials and color
- Assists team in conducting trend research
- Creates accurate spec packs under the general supervision and direction of Design Manager
- Adheres to brand standards and upkeep
- Participates in meetings with cross-functional partners
- Uses Illustrator and 3D in the performance of his/her duties
- Responsible for creating GIR images
- Works in conjunction with coordinator supporting the preparation of creative boards including researching, scanning images and building and maintaining tear libraries, storing and locating designs and artwork
- Develops an understanding of the brand DNA and works on simple line extensions
- Works with the coordinator on Matrix needs, cleans artwork for design presentations
- Maintains Illustrator library
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's in Fine Arts or Industrial/ Product Design
- Must be able to sketch concepts by hand, be proficient in Photoshop, Illustrator, Power Point, Publisher or equivalent
- Must have awareness of competitive consumer goods market
- Must possess a strong fashion sense and have the ability to interpret trends

- Flexible with ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines in fast-paced environment
