What are the responsibilities and job description for the Youth Climbing Team Coach position at Movement?
The Youth Team Climbing Coach will be part of a team of coaches in delivering practice content to our youth climbing teams and assist to some degree in crafting the experience for all levels of Youth Team. Youth Team Climbing Coaches will partner with Coach Supervisors to plan and execute training programming. They will ensure that a positive, inclusive vibe is instilled in our teams while working to provide the best climbing programming and instruction in the industry. While practices will predominately occur during weekday afternoons or evenings some weekend practices may occur.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Monitor energy levels and support athlete while ensuring team activities promote our core values.
- Work with Coach Supervisors and Youth Team Managers to follow the season schedule and deliver the daily instruction for this level of team including Comps, Events, Training plan etc.
- Coach at all practices of this level of team, and competitions as needed based on athlete attendance.
- Provide supervision for youth climbers who will be bouldering and belaying.
- Assist Coach Supervisor with administrative duties for this team level, including monitoring team rosters, tracking belay training, organizing practice notes, and communicating with parents.
- Communicate any issues or concerns with coaching staff and the management team.
- Partner with Coach Supervisors to facilitate mentorship opportunities and personal development for their team level
Qualifications

- Passion for working with youth and developing youth climbing athletes
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with athletes, coaches, parents, and gym leadership.
- Knowledge and experience in climbing instruction commensurate with the team level being coached

The pay range for this position begins at $19.00 and can vary depending on experience.
