Children's Services CoordinatorOverviewWe are a mission-driven organization committed to breaking patterns of instability that lead to homelessness and hunger on the North Shore by providing safe, supportive, and dignified shelter services that promote stability and independence.Position SummaryThe Children's Services Coordinator supports children and families living in family shelter programs serving approximately 50 families across congregate, scattered site, and motel/hotel placements. This role helps strengthen child well-being, parent-child relationships, and access to developmentally appropriate, trauma-informed supports and early education resources.Key ResponsibilitiesBuild safe, nurturing, and supportive relationships with children and familiesSupport parents through engagement, communication, and parenting-focused programmingPlan and lead parent/child playgroups, youth activities, and after-school optionsCoordinate on-site programming with community partners (Early Intervention, parenting groups, therapeutic and enrichment programs)Assist parents with childcare/preschool search and enrollment and maintain updated resource listsCollaborate with schools and homeless liaisons to support children's educational stabilityTrack supportive services and activities in participant electronic files (VESTA)Promote a trauma-informed, culturally responsive environment for children and youthSupport reunification goals and participate in case conferences as neededMaintain confidentiality, professional boundaries, and follow HIPAA requirementsRespond to crises using de-escalation strategies and follow incident reporting proceduresQualificationsBachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Special Education, Social Work, Psychology, or related field(or unrelated degree with required relevant coursework)1-2 years of experience working with families and childrenKnowledge of child development and the impact of traumaStrong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work with diverse populationsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamValid driver's license and reliable transportation requiredCPR/First Aid required (or obtained shortly after hire)CORI/SORI requiredScheduleOccasional evening hours may be required based on program needs.Salary$60,000-$65,000 annuallyBenefitsCompetitive benefits package including health/dental/life/STD insurance, 401(k) with match, and generous PTO.
