Reports to: Director of Foster CTE Center
Terms of Employment: Teacher contract plus 10 days
Evaluation: Performance of the Student Services Coordinator will be evaluated by the FCTEC administration in accordance with the RSU9 school policies regarding the evaluation of staff
Job Goal: To maximize program enrollment and provide recommendations to expand resources and/or programs based on student requests and employment needs.
Performance Responsibilities:
a) Act as the primary point person at FCTEC for questions (student matters, recruitment, program information, etc.) from partner school staff, parents and FCTEC faculty.
b) Develops and implements a recruitment program through which prospective students, parents, guidance personnel, and administrators of sending schools may become acquainted with the facilities and offerings of FCTEC
c) Member of the Bridge Academy of Maine team. Responsible for recruiting, organizing parent meetings, coordinating/participating in Winter/Summer academies, liaison with partnering post secondary institutions.
d) Maintains concurrent enrollments, articulation agreements, and Program of Studies pathways with post-secondary institutions
e) Review/interpret special education records
f) Assist instructors in interpreting IEP/504/health plan documents, attend and/or provide feedback for IEP/504 meetings.
g)Attend IEP meetings when required
h) Provide social/emotional support for FCTEC students as needed while at FCTEC.
i) Work closely with counselors in participating high schools to assure coordination of student academic program with technical courses and in making referrals for supportive services.
j) Collaborate with partner school counselors to assure credits are being monitored and students are on target with partner school requirements for graduation.
k) Monitor attendance of all students and work in collaboration with the Assistant Director to provide necessary interventions to improve student attendance.
l) Work with the team (staff and administration) to develop a plan to address attendance, behavior and/or academic issues for individual students as needed.
m) Provide direct services to students and teachers in the classroom (team teach) as needed AND coordinate and administer third party assessments.
n) Assist with career and college planning activities for FCTEC, including field trips, college and industry presentations.
o ) Coordinate, schedule, and conduct tours of the FCTEC by prospective students and other interested parties.
p) Preview progress report and report card grades and comments and communicate any concerns to FCTEC administration.
q) Develop and maintain a system of parent/family engagement.
r) Contact parents regarding student performance and/or concerns
s) Communicate with partner school representatives regarding scheduling issues (pep rallies, testing, special events) at both FCTEC and the partner schools and shares information with FCTEC staff as needed.
t) As assigned by the Director, work individually with instructors of under-enrolled and new programs to design and implement program-specific strategies to market their programs.
u) Serve as a member of the FCTEC Student Services team and work with the group to plan center activities, events and public relations.
v) Maintain an active advisory committee
w) Attend FCTEC Superintendents’ Advisory Board meetings as appropriate.

Salary : $45,300 - $57,300
