Staff Description
In direct report to the COO, the Director of Marketing functions as trusted advisor to the senior leadership team and is a business partner to the organization. Contributing to both a strategic and tactical capacity, this role is responsible for creating, managing, and implementing marketing strategies and business development activities for the firm with the goal of sustaining and strengthening the company’s client centric culture and achieving an aggressive growth strategy.
Specific duties and responsibilities include:
- Oversee and direct the firm's marketing and client communications programs including firm identity, printed collateral materials, graphic design, social media, advertising campaign, and website content.
- Meet with practice groups and individual attorneys to assist in development and implementation of marketing and business development plans and cross-marketing opportunities.
- Assist attorneys in enhancing legal services proposals, prospect and client capabilities presentations and responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs).
- Evaluate, pursue, and direct firm and attorney involvement in firm sponsored and networking events consistent with targeted audiences and firm goals.
- Identify and oversee the production of firm client events.
- Oversee and encourage continued use of the firm’s CRM software among all practice areas.
- Incorporate in-depth knowledge of relevant industries and business practices into firmwide business strategies.
- Anticipate client needs and industry trends; develop responsive solutions to support practice groups and individual attorneys.
- Oversee website including writing of site content, if necessary, including practice area descriptions, and managing website refresh and implementation of web videos
- Develop, manage, and track marketing budget and expenditures, including helping align the budget to business development efforts.
- Create and implement firm branding strategies.
- Communicate up-to-date strategic marketing goals and plans, and position statements as they relate to:
o Press and electronic announcements for new attorneys, bios, news releases and other firm announcements.
o Collateral materials
o Communication of attorneys’ personal marketing goals as they relate to public relations or other marketing-related activities.
o Client alerts o Cross-marketing
o Sponsorships
o Client events
o Website Requirements
Requirements include, but are not limited to:
- Formal marketing education and experience in developing integrated marketing programs.
- Have at least 10 years’ experience in marketing communications/public relations, preferably within the legal industry.
- Intermediate social media knowledge including but not limited to Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and blog sites.
- Ability to create strategic marketing/business development plans and implement activities.
- Must be able to work autonomously, balance strategic and tactical issues.
- Strong external and internal relationship building skills.
- Strong project management skills include work planning and work delegation.
- Knowledge of relevant news publications, media, local events, professional and trade associations, advertising agencies, graphic designers, printers, and photographers.
- Initiative-taker and idea generator.
- Internet research/web marketing knowledge/experience.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to write clearly for news organizations, speeches, and presentations.
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced, highly collaborative growth environment.
- Ability to travel, as/if needed, to manage satellite location-based communications and business development.
- Excellent computer skills.

Pay: $115,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
