Role:
The Member Loan Consultant (MLC) is a sales position primarily responsible for building relationships with members and potential members. The MLC will use their knowledge of the consumer marketplace, products and finance to fully understand the members’ personal plans and then market the MTC Federal services that best meet the needs.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for complying with all laws, statues, rules and regulations which govern credit unions, including but not limited to all components of the Bank Secrecy Act provisions of the US Patriot Act.
- Demonstrate enthusiastic support of corporate mission, core values and long-term objectives.
- Performs job duties within credit union bylaws, regulations, policies, established internal and external service standards and work procedures
- Meet or exceed the service goals for the position
- Knowledge of the Credit Union’s policies, products and services
- Complete ongoing education and compliance training as assigned
- Identify opportunities for new and/or improved products, services, and processes to ensure the highest levels of loan production, quality, and competitiveness
- Support offsite/outbound promotions and sales campaigns
- Communicate to the member and to internal team members regarding the member’s needs
- Collaborate with internal team members to provide the highest levels of member service
- Gather and document member financial information and application details meeting compliance and lending requirements
- Interpret and evaluate financial information and ask appropriate follow-up and probing questions to determine the appropriate products and services
- Recommend loan terms, conditions, and collateral position consistent with the request and associated loan risks, and then set clear expectations with the member, and document pertinent member information ? Provide debt counseling and financial education to members and potential members
- All other duties as assigned
Requirements
Knowledge and Skills:
Experience
Six months to two years of similar or related experience.
Education
(1) A two year college degree or (2) Completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school or (3) Completion of a specialized and extensive in-house training or apprenticeship program.
