About the Job:

The Compliance Specialist provides guidance and support on compliance issues involving deposit and lending products and services. Supports MCU’s Compliance Management System by performing compliance monitoring and testing and reporting. Participates in various projects related to mitigating compliance risk for the credit union.

  • Maintains a proficient knowledge of all applicable laws, rules, and regulations, participates in various project teams as the compliance liaison, and assists in conducting various risk assessments.
  • Performs ongoing Compliance Monitoring and Testing Reviews of various deposit and lending regulations to identify weaknesses within the Credit Union’s Lending and Deposit Compliance Programs.
  • Reports findings to the Compliance Management and Director of Compliance and conduct follow up reviews as necessary.
  • Completes annual training assigned and participates in any other training opportunities, as assigned, that may arise for opportunity to learn and grow.
  • Assists Management with keeping abreast of regulatory changes, communicating these changes to applicable business line stakeholders, as well as ensuring those changes are properly implemented by the business lines, and participates in Financial Industry Groups, as needed, to keep abreast of updates and/or hot topics of regulatory concerns within the industry.
  • Assists with monitoring complaints, training assignments and completion, and policy renewals.
  • Performs additional tasks and projects as assigned.


What you will bring:

  • Experience performing compliance or quality check reviews.
  • 2 or more years work experience in consumer compliance.
  • Knowledge of the laws, regulations, and subjects applicable to consumer lending and deposit products and services.
  • Excellent knowledge of consumer lending and deposit products and services.
  • Integrity, ability to work independently, and strong problem solving and critical analysis skills.
  • Exceptional collaboration skills.
  • Desire to work as part of a high performing, demanding team.
  • Strong verbal, written communication skills.
  • BA/BS Degree
