What are the responsibilities and job description for the Avionics Technician/Installer position at Murray Avionics Inc?
We are looking for a full time avionics technician / installer in Scotia, NY.
Hours and schedule are flexible.
Duties
- Perform installation, testing, troubleshooting, removal and replacement of aircraft avionics, instruments, and components on various piston and turbine general aviation, corporate, and commercial aircraft
- Adhere to all FAA, company, and manufacturer specifications
- Maintain a safe and organized work area
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of aircraft electrical systems
- Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve technical issues
- Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Knowledge of Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations and requirements
- DOT drug and alcohol screens (pre-employment and random) will be required
- Must possess basic hand tools
- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs
- Ability to bend, stoop, squat, reach, and grasp
- Ability to work in confined spaces
Preferred
- 1 or more years experience as an avionics technician
- Experience using schematics, wiring diagrams, and aircraft manuals
- Experience using AutoCad and Microsoft Office
- Airframe and Powerplant License beneficial
Salary commensurate with experience
