PART TIME: 3.5 day a week 8 am- 5 pm/8 am-12 pm
Pay Scale- $17.75-$24.75/hr

SUMMARY
Under the direct supervision of the Clinic Director. Answers phone calls pertaining to medical related questions by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: including the following.
Answer medical questions and give recommendations to patients; Document all correspondence in EHR.
Submits pharmacy requests to provider as needed.
Give lab test results to patients.
Take incoming calls from other healthcare agencies.
Maintains a courteous, helpful and conscientious attitude in dealing with patients, family members and co-workers, ensuring professionalism and confidentiality at all times.
Regular and prompt attendance at work.
Drawing of blood from patients either by venipuncture or capillary puncture for the purpose of collecting specimens to be analyzed.
Running Point of Care testing.
Store specimens for subsequent processing and prepares specimens for transport to other laboratories.
Follows safety guidelines at all time in accordance with the Universal Blood and Body Fluid Precautions.
Performs laboratory-related clerical duties including record keeping and entering data into computer databases.
Respond to in-person and telephone requests from providers, patients, and clinical staff.
Check standard supply inventory to assure adequate inventory levels and either places supply orders or notifies manager when orders need to be placed.
Clean working surfaces and disposes of bio hazardous waste in accordance with MFC policy.
Responsible for having knowledge of blood collection tubes.
All other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND/OR EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent required. Registered or Certified through the AAMA or AMT as a Medical Assistant Required. CPR/BLS certification required within 6 months of employment. Three to five years of experience working as a medical assistant is required.
