What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Inspector II position at MW Components?
JOB SUMMARY
The Quality Inspector II will perform inspections of incoming materials, parts, and finished products to ensure all products meet quality standards.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Inspect in-process and finished product as required by established procedures.
- Accurately document the results of inspection and testing results.
- Perform careful inspections and enforcements of Quality Standards.
- Maintain all controlled document files of the inspections and testing results.
- Document and report product or service quality levels.
- Communicate with the Production and Quality Team Members to solve problems.
- Maintain records of measuring devices to ensure compliance to standards of QAP, AS9100 and ISO9001.
- Record and indicate instruments are in tolerance and gauges are sent to approved labs.
- Evaluate problems and make recommendations for possible corrective actions.
- Monitor critical equipment and instrumentation to ensure proper operation.
- Document, develop and maintain calibration system, procedures, and records.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprint drawings.
- Sense of urgency and ability to prioritize work.
- Train Quality Team Members as needed.
- Follow up with appropriate Team Members/Management when mistakes are discovered.
SKILLS and ABILITIES
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of ISO9001 and AS9100 management systems.
- Working knowledge of measurement instruments.
- AS9102 FAI inspection preferred.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow verbal and written communications.
- Familiar with GAGE Trak/ Ape software or similar software a plus.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- At least two (2) years of experience in a quality position.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to lift to 40 pounds.
- Vision and depth perception suitable for use of inspection equipment.
