What Is MyBambu?

MyBambu is a financial institution delivering the first all-in-one mobile digital banking solution targeting the Hispanic unbanked and underbanked population. The mission of MyBambu is to promote financial inclusion to the unbanked and underbanked by providing an array of financial solutions delivered via mobile devices. We give an overlooked audience a convenient, safe, and cost-effective way of managing their finances. Your Opportunity:

This position is a full-time, position reporting to the Chief Technology Officer. As the Tech Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the technical aspects of projects, ensuring alignment with MyBambu goals, and driving innovation and efficiency in our development processes.

Job Responsibilities:

• Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and leadership to the development team, ensuring best practices, coding standards, and architectural principles are followed.
• Project Coordination: Collaborate with project managers to understand project requirements, timelines, and priorities. Coordinate with developers to ensure timely delivery of high-quality solutions.
• Team Management: Mentor and coach developers, conduct code reviews, and facilitate knowledge sharing sessions to foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
• Technical Strategy: Work closely with stakeholders to define technical roadmaps, identify opportunities for technology adoption, and drive initiatives to enhance product offerings.
• Quality Assurance: Implement and oversee quality assurance processes, including testing strategies, automation frameworks, and performance monitoring, to deliver robust and scalable solutions.
• Risk Management: Identify technical risks and proactively implement mitigation strategies to minimize project risks and ensure successful project delivery.
• Communication: Act as a liaison between project managers, developers, and other stakeholders, providing regular updates, resolving technical issues, and fostering a collaborative work environment.

Skill and Abilities:

• Technical Proficiency: Strong expertise in software development with proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or C . Knowledge of fintech-related technologies, frameworks, and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is essential.
• Leadership: Ability to provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to a team of developers. Experience in conducting code reviews, setting coding standards, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
• Project Management: Skills in project coordination, including understanding project requirements, timelines, and priorities. Experience in working closely with project managers to ensure successful project delivery within budget and timeline constraints.
• Communication: Strong communication skills to act as a liaison between project managers, developers, and other stakeholders. Ability to convey technical information clearly and effectively, resolve conflicts, and facilitate collaborative decision-making.
• Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving skills to identify technical challenges, propose effective solutions, and implement mitigation strategies for technical risks. Experience in troubleshooting complex technical issues and driving resolutions.
• Strategic Thinking: Ability to think strategically and contribute to technical roadmaps, architecture design, and technology adoption initiatives. Experience in aligning technical solutions with business goals and driving innovation in product offerings.
• Agile Methodologies: Familiarity with agile development methodologies such as Scrum or Waterfall. Experience in working in fast-paced, agile environments, managing multiple priorities, and adapting to changing project requirements.
• Team Collaboration: Strong collaborative skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including developers, QA engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders. Experience in promoting a collaborative work environment and fostering teamwork.
• Continuous Learning: Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in fintech and software development. Experience in evaluating new technologies and incorporating them into technical solutions.
• Decision-Making: Sound decision-making skills to assess technical options, evaluate trade-offs, and make data-driven decisions. Experience in balancing technical considerations with business requirements and constraints.

Job Requirements:

• Bilingual - (English & Spanish), preferred.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
• Proven experience (5 years) in software development, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
• Strong technical expertise in fintech-related technologies and frameworks.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or C .
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).

Requirements: 

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
