Kennel Worker

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and a strong commitment to providing a safe and nurturing environment for pets. This role involves working closely with various animals, ensuring their well-being, and assisting in daily operations at our facility.

Duties

• Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising.
• Maintain cleanliness of kennels and common areas to ensure a hygienic environment.
• Assist with animal restraint during grooming or veterinary procedures as needed.
• Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to the supervisor.
• Engage with pet owners, providing excellent customer service and addressing inquiries.
• Support dog training sessions by reinforcing commands and behaviors as directed.
• Handle heavy lifting when moving supplies or assisting in kennel maintenance.
• Participate in pet sitting duties when required, ensuring pets receive proper attention.
• Collaborate with team members to create a positive atmosphere for both animals and clients.

Requirements

• Previous experience in animal handling or care is preferred but not mandatory.
• Strong skills in customer service to effectively communicate with pet owners.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting as needed throughout the workday.
• Familiarity with kennel operations or veterinary environments is a plus.
• Knowledge of dog training techniques is beneficial but not essential.
• A compassionate attitude towards animals and a commitment to their welfare.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays if required.
• Must be able to demonstrate effective animal restraint techniques safely.
