Job Overview
Physician Support Systems, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated GI Medical Assistant to join our team! In this vital role, you will support our physicians in providing exceptional gastrointestinal patient care. You’ll perform a wide range of clinical and administrative tasks — from taking vitals and assisting with procedures to managing referrals and ensuring accurate documentation.

Duties
- Take patient vitals, perform tests, injections, and venipuncture
- Accurately enter patient information into charts and systems
- Assist physicians during exams and procedures
- Schedule surgeries and procedures
- Process referrals, authorizations, and lab orders
- Handle triage calls and prescription callbacks
- Maintain inventory and medical supplies
- Clean and sterilize medical instruments and exam rooms
- Ensure proper documentation and compliance with privacy and OSHA standards
- Other duties as assigned within the scope of the office
Experience
- High School Graduate or equivalent required.
- Valid MA Certificate, current CPR, venipuncture and injection certificates required.
- 1-2 years’ experience as an MA is required.
- GI MA experience is preferred.
- Ability to work independently as well as a team player is required.
- Bilingual English / Spanish is required.
- Excellent customer service skills is required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
- Basic knowledge with a computer, fax machine, and printer/photocopier are required.
- Comfortable with EKGs, injections, blood draws, and assisting with minor procedures
- Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) systems is required.
Compensation:
- This is a full-time, hourly position with the pay range of $21 - $25 per hour which depends on several variables that are unique to each candidate, including, but not limited to, job-related skills, experience, relevant education, training, licenses/certifications, etc.
