What are the responsibilities and job description for the After School Teacher / Tutor position at MY LITTLE TEAM TEXAS?
My Little Team Texas in San Antonio, TX is looking for one after school teacher / tutor to join our 15 person strong team. We are located on 15415 Applewhite Rd Ste 102. Our ideal candidate is self-driven, punctual, and reliable.
Responsibilities
- Supervision: Ensuring the safety and well-being of the children in their care, monitoring them during activities and breaks. Daily Monday to Friday 3 to 6 pm and Holidays
- Planning Activities: Creating engaging and age-appropriate educational and recreational activities that facilitate learning and development.
- Instruction: Teaching fundamental skills such as social skills, emotional regulation, and basic academic concepts through structured play and other learning activities.
- Communication: Keeping parents informed about their child's progress, behavior, and any important announcements or events, often through procare or newsletters.
- Behavior Management: Implementing positive behavior management strategies, helping children resolve conflicts, and promoting a positive social environment.
- Record Keeping: Maintaining records of attendance, behavior reports, and any incidents that occur during the program, and complete CACFP reports for school age children
- Collaboration: Working with other educators, staff, and director to ensure a supportive environment for all children.
- Professional Development: Continuously seeking opportunities for training and education to enhance teaching skills and stay updated on best practices in early childhood education.
Qualifications
- A minimum or persuing of an associate's degree in early childhood education, child development, or a related field.
- 2 years experience in Child care or Previous experience working with young children in a preschool, daycare, or afterschool setting is preferred.
Certification:
- CPR and first aid.
Knowledge of Child Development:
- Understanding of age-appropriate milestones and developmental stages.
Skills:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and staff.
- Ability to create engaging lesson plans and activities.
- Patience, creativity, and flexibility to address the diverse needs of children.
Background Check:
- Successful completion of background checks and clearances as required
Teamwork:
- Ability to collaborate with colleagues and communicate effectively with parents and guardians.
