Amazon's Transportation Risk & Compliance (TRC) team provides a framework for Amazon's transportation programs to identify and manage risk in a rapidly growing and complex, global environment. To support the business, our primary mission is to perform independent and objective assessment of risks and testing of the controls embedded in Amazon business partners' processes with the goal of optimizing the achievement of strategic objectives by minimizing negative surprises.
We are looking for an experienced Risk Manager to join our Global Risk Management (GRM) team. As Amazon is continuously developing new transportation solutions, this global role will work with business leaders to maximize success through customizable risk management techniques. The successful candidate will propose innovative approaches and risk mitigation strategies throughout the business life-cycle. In this highly visible role, you will work closely with the legal, business, product, and operations teams on effective risk mitigation countermeasures to ensure continued safety and compliance for Amazon and our transportation partners.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $109,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. - Assist Amazon transportation stakeholders (e.g., risk partners and business leaders) with identifying and managing potential risks (e.g., regulatory, operational, or reputational) in their core processes that if left untreated could impact the achievement of their strategic objectives.
- Apply the risk management framework to Amazon transportation programs and influence the product landscape for audit and controls.
- Guide senior leadership, resolve risk management concerns, implement mitigation strategies, and influence the product roadmap.
- Perform readiness reviews on new program launches.

Basic Qualifications
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications at an advanced level
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in business, accounting, policy, risk management, or related field
- 6 years of experience in risk management, such as: identifying risk in key processes, compliance with regulatory requirements, development of policies, standards and procedures, monitoring, testing, issue management, risk appetite and metrics, and reporting
- 6 years of experience working on issues impacting the technology industry, such as: competition, privacy, consumer protection, tax, copyright, trade, labor, transportation and infrastructure, product compliance, sustainability
- 6 years of experience working with enterprise risk frameworks, and conducting risk assessments
- 6 years of experience professionally interacting regularly and directly with senior executives
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification
- Experience leveraging technology and implementing lean principles / Six Sigma methodologies to drive process improvements or equivalent
- Master's degree or equivalent
