We are a privately-owned, busy five doctor practice located in the heart of Northern California. We are seeking an experienced, registered veterinary technician (RVT) to join our team. At MAVH our technical team plays a key role in the success of our hospital. Technicians care for all hospitalized patients, assisting with treatments, surgeries, dental procedures and exams. We are committed to promoting continuing education and making sure all staff have a chance to grow and show their skills.
We have recently completed the construction of a new, larger, modern hospital and we are looking for a qualified veterinary technician to join our staff. Overnight ER shifts with bonus compensation possible.
Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Perform Venipuncture
- Catheter Placement
- Animal Restraint
- Prepare and administer injections: subcutaneous, IM & IV
- Take radiographs
- Conduct treatments
- Anesthesia induction and monitoring.
- Willingness to help others, clients and their pets.
- Fine attention to detail.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Experience working as a veterinary technician or RVT.
- RVT certificate is preferred.
- Excellent demonstration of effective verbal and written communication.
- Ability to lift up to 40lbs
- Commitment of 32-40 hours weekly
