Job Purpose

The Production Supervisor is responsible for managing the Company’s production activities to ensure cost efficiency and timely production.

Principal Accountabilities
  • Manage Production Operations
    • Set priorities while maintaining effective operations and cost factors.
    • Perform machine set-up and maintenance as required.
    • Review production schedules to ensure efficiency.
    • Investigate production problems and offer solutions.
    • Troubleshoot production issues in a timely manner.
  • Monitors Production Activities
    • Enforce compliance with company policies, health and safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
    • Provide management with reports regarding production operations.
  • Develop Production Strategy
    • Work with Engineering staff adjusting machine to improve production and quality of products.
    • Examine time, materials, costs and labor needed for production.
    • Provide ideas for new production methods, procedures and policies
    • Support continuous improvement initiatives such as lean manufacturing, 5S, and root cause analysis.
  • Ensures Smooth Operations
    • Ensure production team functions productively and perform assigned tasks efficiently.
    • Train, coach, and evaluate team members to promote skill development and efficiency.
    • Supervise and coordinate daily activities of production workers.
    • Maintain accurate production records, reports, and performance metrics.
    • Lead team meetings to communicate goals, expectations, and safety topics.
  • Act in leadership capacity as it relates to assisting other Production Supervisors.
  • Maintain a helpful and friendly working relationship with fellow employees.
  • Comply with all applicable customer, safety, ISO/IATF 16949 QMS, and ISO14001 EMS requirements.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.
Knowledge / Skills / Experience
  • Professional skills and knowledge of the manufacturing process of our product.
  • The ability to professionally and efficiently correspond with leadership via phone and email.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to interact in a personable, professional and courteous manner to all.
  • Ability to self-manage multiple projects and deadlines in an accurate and timely fashion.
  • Maintenance of Mytex information in a confidential manner.
  • Pursue constant improvement of customer service and professional skills.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent. (Offset: High School Diploma with 10 years’ experience)
  • Experience: 5 year’s supervisory related experience.
  • Lean Manufacturing and plastic compounding experience are a plus.
  • Experience with a forklift. Certification is a plus.
  • Experience managing a team of production operators is preferred.
  • Ability to apply concept of basic math skills.
  • Ability to lift/move up to 60lbs.

  • The salary range for this position is $29 - $31 per hour salary non-exempt. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered. This salary will be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
