Quality Control Analyst - II

Position Overview

The Quality Control Analyst II will be responsible to lead and provide training, guidance and mentorship to mid-level and junior scientists; Coordinates instrument maintenance and compliance. You will become familiar with the Nalas Quality culture and follow Quality System Operating Procedures (QSOPs), Quality Control Operating Procedures (QCOPs), Test Methods (TMs), Test Protocols (TPs), Test Reports (TRs), train on Good Document Practices, Controlled Document Program, and Quality Manual. Design and execution of work is performed under the quality management principles targeting to be right the first time, to ensure our products and services meet or exceed customer needs.

The Quality Control Analyst II will always operate in a safe and efficient manner and follow Nalas SAF Procedures. They will maintain a clean and tidy work area while contributing to overall continuous improvement of safety practices. They will propose administrative and engineering controls for new chemicals or technology in the lab.

This is a full-time position. Standard days and hours of work are Monday through Friday.

Position Responsibilities

Qualifications and skills

• Bachelor’s degree in science or MS/PhD in related field
• Two years relative working experience at minum
• Basic knowledge of analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving techniques necessary to perform scientific work
• Experience in generating and manipulating data, as well as computer programs such as MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook and SciFinder
• Self-motivated and results orientated
• Demonstrates excellent understanding in Nalas billing structures and timeline, identifies and communicates variances in assignments vs actuals; understands critical path and scope creep

Technical Contributions

• Utilizes knowledge of historical data and ability to design and collect new data to solve laboratory or production problems. Exhibits critical thinking, ability to assess risk, and manages multi-approach strategies.
• Learn analytical software platforms, seek new skills through technique and instrumentation training
• Proficient with understanding of results and how they pertain to production unit operations. Work collaboratively to generate tables and figures representing experimental data. Proficient with interpretation of different types of data produced (e.g. GC, HPLC, IR). Investigates and corrects any sources of experimental error.
• Understands the technical literature

Lab Proficiency

• Proficient with instrumentation software platforms for advanced data analysis, validation tools, and diagnostics. Seek vendor training where applicable.
• Assumes a lead role for projects and tasks with technical and operational proficiency solving problems of increasing complexity.
• Ensures completion of projects and team tasks; Proficient method development skills and recognizes opportunities for method optimization
• Can improve current lab procedures with minimal guidance and develop optimal testing parameters
• Can complete complex testing and assures instruments are qualified and calibrated to analyze time critical samples.
• Knowledgeable of waste management

Customer-Facing Contributions

• Utilize technical writing skills to effectively communicate task specific results externally in report and/or presentation format with minimal guidance and feedback
• Periodically presents units of work (slides, reports, etc.) to support/as technical leads

External Contributions

• Provides impact and direction to the project portfolio, including contributing to technical sections of proposals and statements of work

Project Management

• Assumes a lead role for projects and tasks with technical and operational proficiency solving problems of increasing complexity. Ensures completion of projects and team tasks. Proficient method development skills and recognizes opportunities for method optimization.

Pay: $77,300.00 - $120,100.00 per year
