What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Teacher position at Nampa Montessori?
Responsibilities:
- Assist the lead teacher in implementing age-appropriate curriculum and activities for daycare and preschool children
- Provide care and supervision for toddlers and preschoolers, ensuring their safety and well-being
- Support children with autism and other special needs by following individualized plans and implementing behavior management strategies
- Collaborate with the lead teacher in creating and maintaining a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Assist with daily routines, including meal times, nap times, and diaper changes
- Foster social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development through engaging activities and play
Skills:
- Experience working with toddlers and preschool-aged children in a daycare or educational setting
- Knowledge of child development principles and practices
- Ability to implement curriculum plans and adapt activities to meet the needs of individual children
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and colleagues
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to manage challenging behaviors in a positive manner
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
Note: Additional qualifications such as CPR/First Aid certification or completion of early childhood education courses may be preferred or required.
