About the Role: Primary Care Family Nurse Practitioner | Full-Time | Bilingual (Spanish Speaking)


Nao Medical is looking for a responsible, highly qualified, and professional Nurse Practitioner to provide high-quality medical care by examining patients and treating diseases. The ideal individual must be compassionate, innovative, and creative. You must be very knowledgeable in regard to diseases, epidemiology, and other medical conditions so you can interpret symptoms and diagnose conditions. The individuals must be self-starters, driven, and passionate about technology and must be motivated, results-driven, and enjoy working in a team environment with Good customer relationship skills. You must also be flexible in the tasks to be accomplished and have the willingness to learn something new. The 

Nurse Practitioner reports to the medical director and works collaboratively with the site staff.


Essential Responsibilities:


Patient Services

  • Examine patients to obtain information about their physical condition.
  • Administer or order diagnostic tests.
  • Interpret diagnostic test results for deviations from normal.
  • Prescribe medications.
  • Conduct routine check-ups to patients to assess their health condition and discover possible issues
  • Give appropriate advice for healthy habits (diet, hygiene etc.) and preventative actions to promote overall health
  • Lifts, Positions, pushes, and/or transfers patients.
  • Performs procedures such as injections, immunizations, suturing, and wound care and
  • Infection management, IV Fluid, Pap Smear.
  • Instruct and counsel patients about health maintenance.
  • Documenting/recording patient information into the computer system and scribe oversight and review of notes.
  • Treat injuries by suturing and splinting.


Maintain Office/Department Efficiency

  • Follows safety principles at all times
  • Supervise subordinate medical staff
  • Conduct examinations of ill patients and evaluate symptoms to determine their condition


Qualifications

Knowledge: The individual must have proficient knowledge in the following areas:

  • Information and techniques needed to diagnose and treat human injuries and diseases
  • Therapy and counseling
  • Oral expression
  • Inductive and deductive reasoning
  • Writing  and Active listening skills
  • Must be Bilingual (Spanish speaking)


Education: The individual must have the following education credentials

  • Completion of a FNP degree with residency in FP/IM/ER and/or sufficient outpatient and primary care experience.
  • State Certification and Licensure (NY)
  • HIPAA Training.
  • All training required for NYS registration including BLS, ACLS training, Infection Control Training and DEA number
  • Graduates from a reputable Medical School

Physical Demands: The employee will spend long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers, which can cause muscle strain. The employee will also have to do some lifting of supplies, computers and materials from time to time.  The job may required from time to time to lift light to moderate amount of weight (e.g boxes of medical/facility supplies)


Environmental Conditions: The incumbent shares the office with other members of the team. The incumbent is faced with Interruptions and must meet with others on a regular basis.


Sensory DemandsThe incumbent must spend long hours in intense concentration. The incumbent must also spend long hours on the computer entering information and designing computer system material which requires attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.


Mental Demands: There are a number of deadlines associated with this position, which may cause significant stress. The incumbent must also deal with a wide variety of people on various issues. The incumbent must be a self-starter able to self-motivate and take initiative.
