The primary purpose of this position is to provide clerical and customer service support for the clinical component of the health department. Work Schedule: Regular work schedule is 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday with additional hours as required to respond to the needs of the agency.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
These duties are not all-inclusive nor do they cover the full extent of the duties performed. Answers incoming calls from patients, physicians and other healthcare providers, general public, etc.Responds to patient/general public’s questions directly within scope of position.Schedules patient appointments and obtains prior medical records, if appropriate. Obtains initial patient insurance demographic information.Greets patients/general public and confirms appointments. Explains and obtains any necessary patient signature requirements.Scans documents into patient medical records via the electronic health records system.Performs other duties as assigned.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Required Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from high school and demonstrated possession of knowledges, skills and abilities gained through at least two years of office assistant/secretarial experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
