What are the responsibilities and job description for the Aquatics Keeper II position at Nashville Zoo?
The Nashville Zoo is seeking applications for an aquarist position. Preference will be given for an appropriate degree, however significant experience maintaining aquariums, life support systems or work in an aquaculture facility may be substituted.
The responsibilities for this position include working on diverse aquatic systems from various sized fresh and salt water aquariums to reef tanks.
A working knowledge of aquatic animal husbandry, and different filtration methodologies are required.
The successful candidate must have the ability to work with potentially dangerous chemicals, animals, and be able to lift 50 pounds.
The successful candidate will be able to work effectively in a team atmosphere. Weekend and holiday work will be required.
The starting pay for this hourly position is 15.00- 16.00 dollars per hour depending on experience.
A clear background check and drug test are pre-requisites for the position.
