Yard Worker

Job Summary: Maintain all fence, sanitation and storage equipment in clean and proper working condition and ensure that all equipment leaving the yard meets National Construction Rentals, Inc. quality standards. This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Essential Functions: 1) Clean, repair and ensure fence is rolled and stacked properly in the yard. 2) Clean, repair and paint fence, sanitation and storage equipment. 3) Assist with loading, unloading and servicing of fence, sanitation and storage vehicles. 4) Familiar with and know how to operate steam cleaner, forklift and air tools. 5) Report all accidents immediately. 6) Read and record inventory log sheets on a daily/weekly/monthly basis. 7) Document all work performed on a daily basis. 8) Empty and clean portable toilets for delivery. 9) Maintain safe and clean area. 10) Perform other duties and/or tasks as instructed or assigned.

Education and/or Experience: High School diploma or General Education Development certificate (GED), and one to two years related experience or training. Skills and Abilities: Requires working from detailed instructions. Requires occasional independent decision-making. Assignments are primarily task oriented and include detailed instructions for performing them. Ability to read, analyze and interpret general documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, or procedural manuals. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out detailed written and oral instructions. Licenses/Certificates/Registrations: Must have a valid driver’s license with a Motor Vehicle Record within company guidelines. Because this position may be required to drive a company vehicle, incumbent must be at least 21 years old and possess a forklift certification. Must obtain forklift certification and DOT medical card.

Position requires long periods of standing, reaching with hands and arms, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, talking and hearing/listening, working in high precarious places, occasional walking and sitting, and use of pneumatic vibrating tools. Duties require frequent lifting up to 25 pounds with occasional lifting between 50 and 100 pounds. The work environment includes exposure to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and inclement weather. Work involves exposure to loud machine, vehicle, and mechanical noise.
