Are you a passionate Recreational Therapist looking to improve behavioral health in your community? We provide psychiatric care to adult patients who require inpatient hospitalization related to mental health. 

As the Activity/Recreational Therapist, you will be instrumental in the planning, organizing, directing, and defining patient activities. The duties of the Activity/Recreational Therapist shall be in keeping with accepted standards for the state of Missouri and the rules and regulations of the Hospital. The Activity/Recreational Therapist shall provide activities for the patients as required/prescribed for the well-being of the patient weekdays with possibility of occasional holidays / weekends /evenings.

Center for Behavioral Health Osage Beach is a 18-bed inpatient, free standing Adult Psychiatric hospital that specializes in treating Anxiety, Major Depression, Mood disturbances, Psychosis, and other mental health illnesses. 

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor's degree in recreational therapy or other social services field preferred.
• Previous experience in recreation in a healthcare setting is preferred.
• Preferred Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) or currently in the process of obtaining national certification; OR Certified in specialty (Art, Dance, Music, etc.) OR clinical professional licensure (LCPC, LPC, etc.) with certification in expressive therapy area.

Position Highlights:
A. Patient Care:
     1. Interact with patients on an individual and group basis.
     2. Ensure health and of all safety patients by observing mental and physical condition of patients on each shift.
     3. Perform related duties as assigned.
B. Professional Responsibilities:
     1. Provide activities for the patients as evidenced by documentation in the daily progress notes.
     2. Complete individual assessments on each patient according to Hospital policies and procedures.

The mission of our facility is to provide quality services that consistently meet and exceed the expectations of patients, families, referral sources, payers, and partners. Inpatient services are offered for individuals 18 and older who meet inpatient criteria.
